Phil Guy is featured on the cover of Big City Rhythm and Blues magazine June/July 2007 issue - along with Linsey Alexander, Jimmy Dawkins, Nick Moss, Muddy Waters, Jr., Vino Louden, Chico Banks, Steve Arvey, and Eddie Taylor, Jr.
It's all about Blues, Guitars & Baseball! Phil's story begins on page 9. The photo shoot for this issue happened on a cold and windy Chicago day in April. Robert Jr. Whitall and Shirley Mae Owens (publishers, photographers and writers for Big City Blues Magazine) coralled and organized the photo shoot at 3 incredible locations: Buddy Guy's Legends, the original Chess Records Studio at 2120 Michigan Avenue, Southside Chicago, now owned by Willie Dixon's family - and is the home of Blues Heritage Foundation and museum, and finally the third location outside the U.S. Cellular field home of the 2005 World Series Champions the Chicago White Sox. www.bigcitybluesmag.com

In a forthcoming documentary about the fender stratocaster guitar,
www.headstockmedia.co.uk musician Robert Cray says, "the first time I heard a stratocaster, Philip Guy was playing one . . . it sounded like somebody threw a coin over thin ice." He told co-producer Bob Hewitt that after he heard Phil play the strat, he knew he had to go out and buy one! So, for all you fender fans, check
out the documentary when it is released this year. A still photo of Phil playing the his strat will be blended into Robert Cray's interview.

Backing up a little more than a little bit to last year;
It was a great year for Phil Guy in 2005!!! Check out some of his happenings last year.
Chicagoland blues fans had a terrific opportunity to see Phil Guy perform the last three nights of 2005. Both Thursday, Dec. 29 and Friday Dec. 30, Phil Guy and the Chicago Machine performed at the newly reopened Checkerboard Lounge in Hyde Park, Chicago. . . And for all you suburban blues fans - who came out to Frankie's Blue Room in Naperville for their grand New Year's Eve Celebration with Phil Guy, his band, and special guest Delores Scott. It was fabulous! Frankies Blue Room was all decked out in colorful balloons, classy tables set for the occasion, a great, great buffet that included succulent prime rib - pasta, etc. - Phil Guy's dynamic entertainment/music with special guest Delores Scott - the champagne toast and more. Both Phil Guy and his band - and - Frankie's Blue Room outdid themselves. This is probably Naperville's best kept secret . . . not for long, though . . . check out Phil Guy's 2006 schedule in the upcoming months.
***November 2, 2005***
Phil had a great tour throughout Europe with the Wentus Blues Band! It began October 25th and ran through November 7th, with back to back performances in Germany, Italy, Finland and Switzerland. Check out this site to see pictures of their performance in Italy:

PHIL GUY DAY!!!
Baton Rouge, Louisana Mayor Melvin L. "Kip" Holden proclaimed April 28, 2005
as Philip Guy Day!!! The key to the city and proclamatioin were presented to Phil on April 28, 2005 - Phil's 65th birthday. Family and friends celebrated at Phil Brady's club. Phil was in town for the Baton Rouge Blues and the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.
